The pay range will be between $70.00-75.00/hr based off experience and would be without PTO, benefits, etc (self funded ACA-compliant healthcare plan available to opt in to)
Job Duties and Responsibilities
This role will be accountable for managing several IT/Tools related projects and initiatives sponsored by the Power Grid Operations Transmission Cybersecurity and NERC Compliance organization. This role will work closely with leadership, key stakeholders, as well as front-line employees to develop a Strategic Program Roadmap, capture and evaluate opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and serve as the business owner through implementation. This individual will ensure alignment across the organization to ensure successful development and implementation of technology needs to support the cybersecurity programs for Power Grid Operations Transmission (PGO-T).
The ability to lead through influence and communicate with clarity of thought while understanding business, security, and technical requirements is crucial. Exceptional collaboration skills are a must for fostering effective working relationships with business partners and other key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Consult with program owners and stakeholders to develop a five-year strategic program roadmap to deploy cybersecurity (CS) tool solutions to meet approved CS controls.
- Monitor and maintain the strategic program roadmap of potential cybersecurity investments by PGO-T. Maintain alignment amongst internal and external stakeholders. Work with program/initiative owners to address data gaps and inform the PGO Investment plan to address funding requirements.
- Work with program leads to develop and maintain discrete initiative roadmaps, business justification, resource plans, cost, scope, schedule, risks/challenges, etc. to promote effective and efficient deployment of cybersecurity tool solutions.
- Consult frequently with Program Owner to ensure, and/or take action to ensure roadmaps, plans, budgets, and execution forecasts and actuals are aligned toward achieving the program's strategic objectives.
- Annually assess the Strategic Program Management Plan(s) for their assigned program(s) to ensure it contains up-to-date information on objectives, requirements, scope, benefits, goals and milestones, and annual costs/risks at the program level that align with the strategic CS program roadmap.
- Provide project management support for CS tool initiatives to maintain schedule and budget commitments. Develop resource strategies for larger initiatives to support these requests appropriately.
- Effective Presentation Skills. Ability to create, develop and deliver project / business case presentations to Senior Management / project sponsors.
- Establish and maintain communications among all project/programs stakeholders. Structure, lead, and/or assist in leading all project related meetings and reports required to ensure open communication between all team members, key stakeholders, and management (monthly project reviews, kickoff meetings, weekly reports, monthly reports, etc.) and to properly report project status. Assure that Project Plan, all appropriate reports and reporting means are developed and managed according to PMCoE Standards. Present reports to appropriate management / governance team skillfully.
- Plan the project(s) assigned to, including scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality aspect of the project. Drive the process of project planning including scope definition, estimating, schedule formation and monitoring, cost control measures, procurement/contracting strategies, equipment selection, vendor selection, start-up and commissioning plans, and integration processes. This includes project planning and execution activities like scope definition, detailed design, construction, start-up and commissioning, turnover to operations, and warranty management.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 11 years of project management experience.
- Graduation from a four-year college or university.
- Expert in project management principles.
- Expertise to Strong Expertise in Project Management, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving; Project-related work experience; Risk Management; Leadership; Employee Management/Development; Oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters in business (MBA), project management, or equivalent.
- Utility Experience.
- Experience managing IT related projects and programs.
- NERC-CIP Compliance experience.
- NIST CSH experience.
- Professional Engineer License.
- Motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and provide direction to others.
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills: negotiation, conflict management skills, influencing skills, ability to give and receive positive and constructive feedback.
- Innovative - ability to recognize and seek improvement and efficiency opportunities.
Working Conditions
- Primarily Office Environment.
- Work location can be located in Charlotte, NC.
- Hybrid - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute.
