Principal DevOps Engineer
REMOTE ROLE
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal DevOps Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. This individual will play a critical role in scaling and securing the infrastructure that powers our digital education platforms. As a senior member of the DevOps team, you will collaborate closely with Engineering, QA, and Security teams to ensure seamless deployment processes, robust monitoring, and reliable cloud-native systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines supporting multiple product lines.
Automate Kubernetes infrastructure and configuration management using Argo CD.
Build and manage Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi, Terraform, or AWS CloudFormation.
Manage and optimize cloud environments (primarily AWS) for performance, availability, scalability, and security.
Integrate DevSecOps best practices throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues in production environments.
Develop and refine deployment strategies for containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
Partner with developers to enhance build, test, and release workflows.
Mentor junior DevOps engineers, provide technical leadership, and assign workloads effectively.
Implement and manage observability solutions including monitoring, logging, and alerting systems such as Grafana, Prometheus, and AWS CloudWatch.
Qualifications

8+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles.
Deep, hands-on knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch.
Strong scripting capabilities in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
Extensive experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
Advanced expertise in containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Proficient in Git-based version control and branching strategies.
Proven track record of designing and building DevOps environments from the ground up.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in EdTech or SaaS environments.
Familiarity with compliance and security frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).
Exposure to service meshes, policy-as-code, or GitOps workflows.
