Job Details

Role: DB2 Administrator/Consultant

HYBRID (3 days a week onsite)

Location: Atlanta, GA

 

15+ years in DB2 UDB administration and application support.
Managing multiple DB2 subsystems.
Building DB2 objects and tuning performance.
Deep understanding of DB2 UDB, database architecture, DB2 utilities and Tools.
They will handle tasks related to application database design and review, creation and modification of DB2 UDB database objects, performance monitoring and tuning, security, backup and recovery, and overall database administration.
Performance Monitoring and Tuning: monitor database performance on an ongoing basis, analyze performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and work with application development teams to identify and tune the database system and application logic to optimize efficiency, re-writing and/or optimizing/ tuning complex SQLs, implementing database partitioning.
Strong experience with V11.5 for Linux, Unix, and Windows.

Analyze and optimize DB2 UDB database performance, focusing on query tuning, execution plans, and SQL optimization.
Design and optimize complex joins, subqueries, and indexes to improve response time and throughput.
Use DB2 tools such as EXPLAIN, RUNSTATS, REORG, and db2pd to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Collaborate with application teams to improve database-driven workflows and ensure scalability for high-volume systems.
Ensure database best practices, stability, and performance in mission-critical enterprise environments.
