Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Data & Reporting QA Engineer with deep expertise in SQL, data validation, and Unix-based environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating business reports, ensuring data accuracy and consistency, understanding end-to-end data flow, identifying edge cases, and performing white-box testing using PL/SQL and backend logic analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Strong proficiency in SQL (joins, subqueries, aggregations, window functions) for complex data validation.
- Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux commands for file operations, log analysis, and automation scripts.
- Solid understanding of data flows, ETL processes, and how source-to-report transformation works.
- Experience in PL/SQL or other database programming for analyzing stored procedures/functions.
- Ability to conduct white-box testing by understanding the logic behind the code and validating data accordingly.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, OBIEE, etc.), and ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, DataStage) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related fields from accredited four-year university. 3+ years related experience (PBM or healthcare industry experience is a plus).
- Strong proficiency in SQL query skills for reporting and data analysis techniques.
- Proven proficiency in Atlassian JIRA and Confluence, MS Office, MS Visio (or Miro), SharePoint.
- Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies and test management tools.
- Exposure to automation frameworks or Shell/Python scripting is a plus.
- Documentation skill to produce test case design and plan documents.
- Good interpersonal and communications skills (written/verbal) for effective collaboration and documentation.
- Good understanding of supported MedImpact products and services from a business and technical perspective.
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written). One must be able to respond promptly to client needs and pivot according to the business priorities.
