Job Description:
The HR Payroll Systems Consultant is responsible for the day-to-day changes and configurations within Workday Payroll. Identify opportunities and discuss with the Payroll Director to ensure successful Risk/Audit/Vendor/Partner outcomes while securing director approval.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with changing business priorities.
- Displays integrity and ethics in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to manage projects, develop a plan to accomplish objectives, identify obstacles, and resolve operational issues.
- Triage and resolve any issues identified in day-to-day activities
- May conduct payroll process training for business customers and assist in the development and maintenance of end-user payroll training manuals and materials
- Displays a customer service focus in all decisions and actions.
- Participate in optimization projects to realize the full potential of Workday.
- Act as the lead supporting Payroll to ensure all work streams are cohesive and cross-functional; impacts are considered and mitigated related to upgrades and projects.
- Work with HR partners for all changes that affect Payroll, such as changes to annual benefits.
- Perform testing related to all changes in lower environments and receive approval before implementing changes in production.
- Assist Payroll Director with projects or tasks related to the payroll department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 6+ years related experience
- Workday Payroll experience
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience with Workday Payroll configuration/integrations
- Strong knowledge of analytical & presentation tools and database analysis capabilities related to Workday payroll
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- General knowledge in payroll checklists, earnings, and deductions, pay groups, general ledger, costing allocations, audit alerts, approval processes, and security rules
- Experience implementing Workday Payroll configurations
- Knowledge in requirements gathering, designing, and testing of Workday Payroll solutions
- Capability to put together 'fact-based' criteria and 'tell the story .
- Ability to apply advanced knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of tasks and projects
- Knowledge of internal controls, SOX documentation, and control testing experience is a plus.
