Job Title: Oracle ERP Consultant/ Oracle Data Migration Lead/Oracle Consultant

Duration: Long Term

The Technical Lead - Oracle ERP Data Migration a lead role in managing the Data Migration and Reporting for the ERP modernization program. This role will be responsible for the orchestration of migrating On-Premise Oracle E-Business and Oracle PeopleSoft data to Oracle Fusion Cloud and Business Intelligence Analytical Reporting to meet the business and technical requirements and ERP Modernization Program delivery on time and within budget.

This position resides in the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) of the Information and Technology Services (ITS) / ERP Modernization Program.

This data Leader will be responsible for the orchestration of On-Premises Oracle EBusiness and Oracle PeopleSoft data migration activities to Oracle Fusion Cloud to meet business requirements. The Data Migration Technical Lead is accountable for the following responsibilities:

  • Developing data management plans with solid experience in developing data cleansing strategies, action plans, reconciliation plans and scripts.
  • Good experience in understanding data models, data integrity and normalization rules, data extraction, load and transformation scripts.
  • Functional experience to understand the business context of data in Oracle EBusiness Financials and Procurement, and Oracle PeopleSoft HCM and Payroll and migrating the on-premises data to relevant Oracle Fusion Cloud Services.
  • Determining the validity of the values of the data elements and reviewing and validating data relationships.
  • Coordinating with data owners to validate cleansed data (e.g., reconciling transaction details to summary records such as commitments and obligations to General Ledger (GL) balances), Procurement, HCM and payroll master and transactional data.
  • Determining data migration requirements.
  • Defining roles and responsibilities for the data migration activities.
  • Reviewing and providing comments and suggestions on the data management plan, data migration plan, checklist, timeline, and conversion report delivered
  • Documenting migration activity timelines for mock conversions and production deployment.
  • Developing a data migration checklist and sign-off process to ensure completion of planned activities.
  • Mapping the data in the format provided in conversion templates. This includes mapping the current account codes to the future account codes etc.
  • Assisting with determining data migration security controls.
  • Developing unit and end-to-end integration migration test plans (including testing for data extraction, transformation, data loading, and data validation).
  • Solid experience with data transformation and data load testing.
  • Validating data of multiple mock conversions and the full migration coordinating with unit and end-to-end integration testing to ensure the flow of data from the source applications to the target applications is accurate.
  • Documenting the end-to-end data migration test results and lessons learned report.

In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Oracle ERP Data Migration Technical Lead must possess the following skills, abilities, and qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Type of Education Required:

  • Bachelor s Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • A major in Business Administration, Information Technology, or Engineering is preferred.
  • Master s Degree preferably an MBA with a major in MIS, Human Resources Management, Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • Oracle ERP Cloud certifications preferred.

Type of Experience and Number of Years:

  • One recent end-to-end full life cycle experience as an Oracle Fusion data migration lead implementing Oracle Fusion Financials, HCM and Procurement Cloud Services.
  • Experience utilizing Oracle and other industry leading ETL tools and technologies to support large scale ERP data migration efforts.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing and leading Oracle Fusion Cloud Data migration workstream- On-Premise Oracle E-Business and Oracle PeopleSoft to Oracle Fusion Cloud.
  • At least ten (10) years of demonstrated experience leading ERP Data Migration activities.
  • At least five (5) years of experience managing data migration activities for Oracle ERP Cloud Tech stack.
  • Experience in Education (K-12) ERP Oracle Fusion Cloud Implementation, preferred. migration strategy, conversion plan, timing of data loads, object dependencies, sequencing of tasks.
  • Experience in using ETL and SQL tools used for data migration.
  • Experience in working with Oracle Financials, Procurement, HCM and Time and Labor Cloud modules.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Extensive interaction with functional and technical leads, business users, and Oracle SME s.
