Job Title: Web Application Developer

Position Summary:
A large public agency is seeking a Web Application Developer to support its Engineering Division s ongoing software maintenance and development needs. The successful candidate will work within a specialized applications group that supports engineering project delivery and internal operations through custom-built .NET applications and data workflows. This role involves enhancing in-house developed .NET web and console applications, supporting system integrations, and contributing to the development of new solutions in a collaborative, project-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and enhance existing custom .NET web applications and Windows console applications.
Develop and manage integrations between various Engineering systems (e.g., using web services, SQL Server ETL packages, SharePoint Online, Azure Data Lake, Esri GIS).
Design, develop, test, and deploy new applications in coordination with project managers and technical leads.
Support and maintain SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports.
Provide help desk and user support for Engineering applications as part of the Applications Support Team.
Required Qualifications:
Education & Technical Skills:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related technical field from an accredited institution.
5+ years of full stack web application development experience using ASP.NET Web Forms and MVC.
5+ years of C# development experience with strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
5+ years of front-end development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
2+ years of experience developing .NET applications with React.js (frontend) and Node.js (middleware/service layer).
2+ years of experience in database design and development in Microsoft SQL Server, including stored procedures, functions, and data modeling; proficiency with Entity Framework or similar ORM.
2+ years of experience in developing and maintaining REST APIs and system integration interfaces.
1+ year of hands-on experience with Git and Azure DevOps for version control and project tracking.
1+ year of experience in Microsoft SSRS report development.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Soft Skills:
Self-motivated with strong prioritization and time management skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degrees in a related field.
Experience with AI APIs, machine learning workflows, and pre-trained models.
UI/UX design experience using Figma or similar tools.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern build/deployment tools.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Knowledge of Python and Esri GIS integration.
Experience with Enterprise Content Management tools such as SharePoint or OpenText.
Understanding of web security best practices and authentication frameworks (OAuth2, JWT).
Exposure to applications deployed in Azure cloud environments.
Experience with large public-sector or government organizations, especially in the construction/engineering industry.
