Job Details
Role: IT QA Automation Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL
Work Schedule: Must work in the EST time zone
Summary: Responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts for complex healthcare applications ensuring accuracy, compliance, data integrity, and an excellent user experience in a regulated environment.
Essential Duties:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web, API, data, and backend systems, with a focus on healthcare payor workflows (e.g., member management, eligibility, claims, billing).
- Collaborate with analysts, subject matter experts, product owners, and developers to understand requirements and translate them into comprehensive strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
- Manage defects using ServiceNow and Microfocus ALM.
- Perform manual and automated regression, integration, and end-to-end testing for both new and existing functionality/features.
- Write complex SQL queries for data validation, particularly in multi-database environments.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and deployment.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and industry standards.
- Document test scenarios, test cases, results, and quality metrics; provide timely and actionable feedback to stakeholders.
Professional Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of QA automation experience, with at least 4years of experience in the healthcare payer domain.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI, Swagger).
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with healthcare payor systems and processes, including claims, billing, and eligibility.
