Your Opportunity

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will evaluate, select, specify, and design certain electrical power and lighting systems or products for a project verifying compliance with applicable codes and internal engineering standards / practices. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations and field work. The projects that you may be assigned to will have routine and complex features for the following types of work: renewable energy systems, parks, marinas/boatyards, roadways, transportation facilities, site development projects, and electrical infrastructure design.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Attend meetings with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and utility companies to coordinate projects.
  • Prepare complete deliverables and documents including calculations, drawings, and specifications with minor supervisor.
  • Examine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projects.
  • Handle multiple complex assignments simultaneously.
  • Manage or take on the technical lead role for lighting and electrical projects.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Design experience in lighting design, energy code compliance, lighting/power circuiting design, renewable energy, emergency power systems, communications systems, fire alarm systems, intelligent transportation system, construction cost estimating and specification writing.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of the architectural and engineering industry.
  • Thorough knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards.
  • Must have in depth knowledge of general transportation, buildings, community development or power construction.
  • Previous experience working with various transportation authorities such as NJTA, NJDOT, NYCDOT, NYSDOT or the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation, AGI32, Visual Lighting Software.
  • LC is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills.

Education and Experience
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of related industry experience.
  • PE license required, NY or NJ preferred.

Pay Range:
  • Locations in NYC & CA (Bay Area) & NJ (RP) - Min Salary $ 128,600.00 - Max Salary $ 193,000.00

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
