Description
We are looking for a dedicated Cable Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of structured cabling and network systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity for professionals skilled in Access Control systems, CAT5/6 cabling, and network hardware. Based in Greenville, South Carolina, this role requires technical expertise and a commitment to delivering reliable connectivity solutions.
Responsibilities:
Install and terminate CAT5 and CAT6 cables, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
Configure and integrate Access Control systems with security and network components.
Inspect, test, and repair network hardware, including routers, switches, and modems.
Plan and execute cable routes based on blueprints, client needs, and industry standards.
Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues promptly, replacing defective components as needed.
Collaborate with clients and team members to ensure seamless system installations.
Adhere to safety protocols and worksite regulations during all installation and repair activities.
Maintain detailed records of installations, configurations, and maintenance for internal and client use.
Requirements
Proven experience with CAT5 and CAT6 cable installation, termination, and testing.
Hands-on expertise in Access Control system wiring and software setup.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and installing network hardware, such as routers and switches.
Strong understanding of network protocols, connectivity standards, and cable management practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
High School Diploma or equivalent is required; technical training or coursework is preferred.
