Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. seeks an Associate, Java / Scala Dev in New York, NY

Interact with business stakeholders and external vendors to collect clear requirements for connectivity, product, and pricing systems. Design and implement according to those requirements. Propose and compare design alternatives for a given problem statement. Document the design in an internal collaboration tool and publish to stakeholders to collect feedback. Implement features in internal Morgan Stanley applications. Leverage Morgan Stanley devops, build tools, and infrastructure to develop and deploy applications in different environments. Support application development during business hours by being available to provide L3 support in triaging application issues. Advance architecture and design alternatives to implement and present, securing team approval, and implementing said alternatives. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $167,000 and $167,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Any), Computer Science, or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as an Application Engineer, Manager, or a closely related occupation. Requires five (5) years of experience with: Docker; Spring Boot; Micro Service Architecture; Java; Angular; Python; SQL and Databases; Multithreading; Data Structures and Algorithms; Operating Systems and Networks; Source Control including Git and SVN; Deployment tools including Jenkins; Application support and RCA; software architecture and design; and software and systems documentation. Requires three (3) years of experience with: Scala. Requires two (2) years of experience with: C#/WPF; and Equity Derivative Pricing.
