Information Security Engineer (PERM)
Location:
Remote (Applicant needs to be in NYC area, NJ, MA, CT, Washington DC or South Florida)
Salary: $145 - 155K
  • Bonuses are discretionary on a year-to-year basis, but employees usually do receive them. Start date determines eligibility.
Notes:
  • This role can be "pretty much" remote. They just want the employee to be somewhat close to one of their 13 offices in case the firm has an urgent need for the person to be present (in-person) for a meeting.
Role Overview
We're seeking an experienced Information Security Engineer to protect and advance the security of our virtualized, hybrid, and cloud environment. As part of a small, highly skilled team, you'll work directly with the Director of Information Security to identify risks, strengthen defenses, and ensure the integrity of our systems.
In this role, you'll design and implement advanced security measures, lead continuous improvement efforts, and respond to emerging threats. Your work will be critical in safeguarding sensitive client data, maintaining business resilience, and ensuring compliance with the highest security standards.
Key Responsibilities
Core Security Engineering
  • Review and strengthen security controls for the Citrix virtualized environment.
  • Perform advanced threat hunting, malware analysis, and incident response.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, analyze logs, and drive remediation.
Cloud & Collaboration Security
  • Assess and improve Microsoft 365 security (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Defender for O365).
  • Secure the Azure AD domain and tenant configuration.
Operational Excellence
  • Maintain and enhance incident response playbooks.
  • Collaborate with IT, NetOps, and technical teams to support secure deployments.
  • Support audits, risk assessments, and implement hardening measures.
Required Skills
  • 5+ years in cybersecurity or infrastructure security roles.
  • Expertise with Citrix (ADC/NetScaler), Hyper-V, and endpoint isolation.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, segmentation.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with PKI, certificate lifecycle, and encryption protocols.
  • Experience with SIEM, EDR, MDM tools, and threat intelligence.
  • Knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001.
  • CISSP, GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, or similar.
