Job Details

Subject: Business Management Specialist
Location: Tallahassee (On-Site)
Required Qualifications
A bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information
Systems, or other related field, or 10 years of equivalent work experience is required.
Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when applicable.
The Department requires the following experience, skills, and knowledge for this position:
10 or more years of experience in strategic communications or project management;
Experience managing large-scale communication strategies or project management initiatives,
particularly in government or public-sector IT environments; and
Experience in corrections, law enforcement, or public safety domains is advantageous due to the
unique challenges of managing high-risk communication flows and public engagement
Crisis Communication and Executive Reporting:
Expertise in managing crisis communication protocols for unexpected disruptions (e.g., system
outages, compliance issues);
Experience preparing executive reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership and external
stakeholders; and
Proven ability to lead public relations efforts during high-stakes scenarios, ensuring transparent
communication with lawmakers, the public, and media outlets.
Communication Skills:
Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills;
Ability to craft executive summaries, public-facing documents, and internal communications with
precision and clarity;
Experience tailoring content for diverse audiences, including internal staff, contractors, lawmakers,
public stakeholders, and media; and
Proficiency in developing templates, style guides, and visual communication strategies that align
with the agency s brand and compliance requirements.
Leadership and Coordination:
Proven leadership skills in inter-agency coordination and vendor management; and
Ability to manage cross-functional teams and align diverse stakeholders (internal and external) for
seamless communication flow across OIT, PMO, and external partners.
Ability to Manage Complex Communication Demands Under Pressure:
Manage multiple communication streams simultaneously during tight deadlines; and
Lead communication efforts during crisis events, such as cybersecurity incidents or critical system
failures, ensuring stakeholders are kept informed in real time
