Job Details

Genesis10 is seeking a Chief Engineer II for a 5-month contract position with the possibility of extending the assignment. The position is with a leading manufacturer located in Oshkosh, WI. This role is 100% onsite.

Compensation: $60.00-65.00 per hour.

Summary:

Genesis10 is currently seeking a qualified candidate who will design functional, reliable, and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle components for existing and new vehicle platforms. This role involves performing engineering analysis, design, and development activities while supporting integration and execution of component and system-level solutions. The position is onsite, with local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks according to company and industry standards.
  • Support senior engineers in the preparation of plans, designs, computation methods, and technical documentation.
  • Manage projects or project components of limited complexity; may oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams, business units, and external suppliers.
  • Mentor entry-level engineers, designers, or technicians involved in shared projects.
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, customers, and outside partners regarding technical issues.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering criteria, drawing standards, and company procedures.
  • Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Prepare layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Conduct engineering analyses to select components and materials that meet technical and performance requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance to support production operations.
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues reported to Engineering and communicate resolutions effectively.
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations as needed.
  • Utilize analytical and mathematical methods to model and optimize system performance.
  • Maintain project documentation for analysis, research, and historical tracking.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of related mechanical engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with Creo, PTC Windchill, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle systems.
  • Experience working with a high-level CAD system.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and with external partners.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities under varying demands and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor or lead others on technical projects.
