The client is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with behavioral health or developmental disabilities. As part of our ongoing efforts to modernize and optimize our technology infrastructure, we are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled cloud engineer with a deep understanding of full-stack development, cloud technologies, and CI/CD pipeline automation.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and applications, primarily leveraging AWS, React, and NodeJS. Your expertise will play a critical role in deploying full-stack applications, automating processes, and ensuring that solutions are scalable, resilient, and aligned with the agency s technical direction.

This position will involve extensive collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, implementing technology solutions that improve business decision-making and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Application Development: Design and develop scalable, cloud-native applications using AWS services, React, TypeScript, NodeJS, and serverless computing frameworks.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Development: Build and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using AWS CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, and Terraform to automate updates and feature deployments.
  • Micro-Frontend Architecture: Develop and manage micro-frontend architectures, leveraging frameworks such as Single-SPA to enable modular, scalable applications.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and management with AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, and Terraform.
  • API Development: Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native APIs, utilizing AWS API Gateway, Lambda, and other services to ensure seamless integration across systems.
  • Cloud Security & Compliance: Ensure robust security measures are in place, including IAM policies, role-based access control, and AWS Cognito for authentication.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with cross-functional teams, product owners, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable solutions. Lead and mentor junior developers.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure application stability and resiliency through rigorous testing, monitoring, and performance enhancements. Adhere to best practices in security, governance, and compliance.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Create comprehensive documentation for design, implementation, and operational procedures. Ensure documentation aligns with DBHDS policies and standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Cloud & Full-Stack Development: 10+ years of experience in building full-stack applications using AWS, NodeJS, and React.
  • Micro-Frontend Expertise: Strong experience in developing micro-frontend solutions using frameworks such as Single-SPA and ReactJS.
  • CI/CD Automation: Proven experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, and Terraform.
  • Serverless & Event-Driven Architecture: Deep understanding and hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, serverless computing, and event-driven architectures.
  • API Development & Integration: Expertise in designing, developing, and managing APIs in cloud environments, including AWS API Gateway.
  • Cloud Security: Solid knowledge of cloud networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, security groups), and security best practices including IAM roles and policies, Cognito, and role-based access control.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Experience with AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, and Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure.
  • Scripting & Automation: Proficient in scripting languages such as NodeJS, Python, or similar, for task automation.
  • Cloud Monitoring & Logging: Experience with cloud monitoring, setting up alerts, dashboards, and logs for application health and performance.
  • NoSQL Databases: Extensive experience with NoSQL databases, specifically AWS DynamoDB.
  • DevOps Practices: Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including version control, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure management.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to collaborate across teams and deliver technical solutions that align with business goals.

Desired Qualifications:

  • AWS Solutions Architect Professional Certification
  • Experience with Single-SPA and ReactJS for micro-frontend development
  • Familiarity with AWS Lambda and serverless frameworks
  • Experience with business process automation and simplifying workflows
