Terms of Employment:
6-Month Contract (Likely Extension)
Candidates must be comfortable working onsite in Reston, VA once or twice per month for collaboration sessions / meetings. Candidates must reside in MD, DC, or VA.
Candidates must be comfortable conducting a final round, in-person interview in Reston, VA.

Overview & Responsibilities:
Work with a leading organization in the midst of a major digital transformation. As a Mainframe-DevOps Migration Engineer, you will lead the strategic migration from a legacy ChangeMan ZMF platform to a modern DevOps ecosystem. This is a critical "bridge" role where you will use your deep mainframe expertise to build the future of automated deployment using Bitbucket, Jenkins, and IBM Developer for z/OS (IDzEE). You will
Support the transition of source code and change management processes from ChangeMan ZMF to Bitbucket.
Maintain and optimize ZMF integration points with RACF, DB2, and CICS during the migration.
Develop REXX programs and ISPF/TSO panels/skeletons to automate migration tasks.
Align Jenkins pipelines with traditional mainframe validation tools like XPEditer and JobScan.
Design new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the new DevOps lifecycle controls.
Troubleshooting complex mainframe deployment bottlenecks and Dialog Manager issues.

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience (with Degree) or 9+ years (High School) in mainframe software engineering.
Must have heavy administration/engineering experience with ChangeMan ZMF.
Must have experience with IBM Developer for z/OS (IDz / IDzEE) software suite.
Advanced proficiency in REXX programming, JCL, and ISPF Skeletons/Panels.
Proven track record of supporting technical teams through a cultural shift to DevOps.
Expert knowledge of mainframe integrations (RACF, DB2, CICS, XPEditer).

Preferred Qualifications:
Direct experience specifically migrating from ChangeMan ZMF to IDzEE.
Familiarity with Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Artifactory in a mainframe context.
Knowledge of Java, JavaScript, Python, or Cloud (AWS/Azure).
