What you'll do...
Position: Software Engineer III
Job Location: 221 River Street, Hoboken, NJ 07302
Duties: Design, build, and deploy software for distributed microservices with specific business logic to production with continuous integration frameworks and event driven frameworks. Develop service-level and business-level metrics to monitor microservices and product flow. Develop and deploy software tools, programs, and metric monitoring processes to address production issues and operation cost. Perform accurate documentation and maintenance of software functionality. Confer with product managers, project managers, and engineers to design large-scale distributed system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces. Modify existing software and services to correct errors, adapt to new demands, or improve its performance. Apply advanced knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. Develop and direct distributed software systems testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation. Design, develop, and manage high throughput, low latency distributed software applications.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years of experience in software engineering or related area.
Skills Required: Experience designing and implementing REST APIs using Java. Experience deploying services using continuous integration frameworks. Experience performing code reviews on Java code. Experience working with Microsoft Azure as an infrastructure and platform. Experience developing and monitoring service and business level metrics. Experience working with relational and non-relational database management systems including MySQL, MongoDB, Cosmos DB, and Cassandra. Experience developing integration and unit testing for Java code using Junit, and embedded testing frameworks. Experience troubleshooting applications and infrastructure using application and system logs. Experience with object-oriented programming and design patterns. Experience with reactive programming using Java. Experience with message queues including Kafka and IBMMQ. Experience building and deploying Java applications with Docker and Kubernetes. Experience implementing horizontal auto scaling and rate limiting. Experience building applications with Java 8 using Completable Futures and Lambdas. Experience with Microsoft Azure suite of products including Azure Blob storage and Azure data lake. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $131,997/year to $216,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
