Our direct client has an opening for an SR. Engineering Tech (CYBERSECURITY) for their Control System Application Services Team at the Headquarters facility (near Union Station) downtown Los Angeles. (Commute by train)
This assignment expectation is 6 months and may extend or be converted to direct hire.
Please note this position requires the successful completion of a background check, drug screen, and employment and education verification prior to starting work.
The work schedule is a 44/36 Mon Fri starting as early as 7:00am 4:30pm with every other Friday off.
This position will be in the office. This position is NOT hybrid.
The SR. Engineering Tech (CYBERSECURITY) responsibilities will act as a SCADA Network technical lead in the design, development, and daily support of the client's Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Network and Security infrastructures.
The ideal candidate will exude competence and demonstrate knowledge of Industrial Control System (ICS) LAN / WAN networking and best practices in SCADA network architecture and security design, including knowledge of ICS security infrastructures and best practices.
They ll need to have hands on experience configuring and managing network switches, routers, and firewalls; including EIGRP and BGP routing protocols is essential. This position will also work closely with the IT network and project management teams, and SCADA network/security consultants overseeing the design, development, proof of concept, and be competent to upgrade of SCADA network communications infrastructure.
*The hiring manager is asking for the candidate to have 5+years of experience working with: Industrial Control System (ICS).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Required):
- Knowledge of industrial control systems 1/0 technologies and SCADA Protocols (Modbus, DNP3, CIP)
- Provides specialized and complex expertise in the design, deployment and review of control systems LAN/WAN networks and security architecture.
- Working knowledge of Cellular, Microwave, Telco services, WAN, LAN, switching, routing, VPN, VLAN.
- Evaluate products and vendors, administration of cyber tools and systems
- Configure and administrate firewalls
- Develop and maintain manuals, test procedures, and specifications for network security compliance.
- Provides technical expertise for SCADA network and security projects.
- Configures and validates security architecture solutions.
- Generate network and security reports.
- Develops and maintains network/security documentation.
- Works with consultants to ensure the successful design, enhancements, implementation and administration of SCADA network and security technologies.
- Works with IT Security and consultants to perform security audits and investigations, identify and document security weaknesses.
- Communicate security issues to project team, enhance network/security management and monitoring solutions, and recommend security controls necessary to mitigate risks utilizing industry best practices and solutions.
- Work with IT Network and Security teams to ensure security policies and procedures are implemented as defined in security plans.
Testing security products and systems to detect security weaknesses and perform event correlation across systems.
DESIREABLE - LICENSES:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) - Security
- Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) - Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional Certification (GICSP)
- ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity
Experience Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education development test (GED), and two years of accredited college or university in engineering and eight years of relevant experience, two years of which must have been at the Engineering Technician III level.
