Job Title: IT Project Manager

Location: Sacramento, CA (Remote/Telework Onsite as required)

Position: Contract Position

• JOB DESCRIPTION:
• • Project Planning & Documentation:
    • Develop and maintain key project management deliverables, including Project Charters, Schedules, Risk Registers, and Communication Plans.
    • Maintain issue, action, and risk logs, and ensure documentation complies with CDT/CDCR standards.
    • Establish project governance, resource planning, and reporting structures.
    Project Execution & Delivery:
    • Manage the full project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with defined scope, timeline, and budget.
    • Lead daily operations of the project team and coordinate cross-functional collaboration.
    • Facilitate Agile ceremonies and ensure quality assurance across all deliverables.
    • Support deployment, transition, and post-implementation activities.
    Reporting & Stakeholder Management:
    • Prepare and present weekly progress reports, monthly executive summaries, and project status updates.
    • Communicate risks, dependencies, and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
    • Participate in Steering Committee meetings and executive reviews.
    Change & Quality Management:
    • Oversee Organizational Change Management (OCM) initiatives to ensure adoption and smooth transitions.
    • Coordinate change control and issue resolution processes.
    • Maintain documentation for audits, approvals, and project closure.

    Mandatory Qualifications:

    • Active PMI-PMP Certification (must provide verification).
    • Minimum 5+ years of IT project management experience, including 3+ years in a lead role.
    • 3+ years experience managing projects using Agile methodology.
    • 2+ years managing large-scale or multi-phase IT projects with deliverables, budgets, and schedules.
    • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word.
    • 2+ years experience with ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM).
    • Experience managing ServiceNow platform implementations.
    • Experience in Organizational Change Management (OCM) activities.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior experience working with State of California or other public-sector agencies.
    • Strong documentation, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills.
    • In-depth understanding of CDT project reporting and governance processes.
    • Proven track record of delivering projects within budget and schedule constraints.

    Work Environment:

    • Telework/Remote Role State-issued laptop and secure network access provided.
    • Must be available for occasional on-site meetings in Sacramento, CA.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent priorities effectively.
