Die Cast Process Technician I
Shift Options:

$18.25 - $30.00/hour (based on experience)
This is a non-exempt, full-time position and is eligible for overtime.
Position Summary
The Die Cast Process Technician I is the highest-level technician role within the die casting team. This position requires advanced technical skills, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to lead process improvements. In addition to performing all duties of a Die Cast Technician II, the Level I Technician is responsible for making programming adjustments to optimize operations, troubleshoot complex issues, and support new product launches alongside engineering and design teams.

Position Summary

In addition to performing all duties of a Die Cast Technician II, the Level I Technician is responsible for making programming adjustments to optimize operations, troubleshoot complex issues, and support new product launches alongside engineering and design teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all duties of Die Cast Process Technician I and II.
- Pull, set, and validate dies for production.
- Troubleshoot die cast process failures and conduct root cause analysis.
- Reset and reprogram robotic systems; capable of robot fault recovery and programming adjustments.
- Collaborate with engineering on new product launches to optimize cycle times and part quality.
- Read and interpret CMM reports; adjust equipment based on dimensional data.
- Conduct full setup using APQP guidelines and validate process to meet specifications.
- Monitor surface finish, thickness, contours, and dimensional accuracy using gauges and metrology tools.
- Perform GD&T offset changes and interpret runout, coordinate, and geometric data.
- Address and correct porosity issues in castings.
- Ensure all PMs are completed and properly logged in ERP system.
- Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols.
- Utilize Control Plan and FMEA documentation in daily operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or trade school training preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience, preferably in a die cast or metal fabrication environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and production processes.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and apply technical data to solve problems.
- Preferred Certified in (but not required):
- Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO)
- Forklift/Hi-Lo operation
- Hoist operation
- Metrology and use of precision gauges
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience using Minitab or similar statistical analysis software preferred.
