Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to establish and develop a robust Data Architecture within the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) team. Reporting directly to the EDM Leader, you will be responsible for defining data architecture standards, frameworks, and best practices that enable business agility while minimizing unnecessary complexity.

This role involves developing key architectural artifacts from reference architectures to logical data designs and collaborating with both technical and business subject matter experts (SMEs) across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep technical expertise, and the ability to engage effectively with senior leaders across business and technology functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement the Data Architecture framework, standards, and guidelines for the organization.

  • Design reference architectures and functional designs for Enterprise Data Management solutions, as well as broader enterprise data solutions.

  • Develop core architecture artifacts, including conceptual and logical data models, data flow diagrams, and related documentation.

  • Partner closely with senior business leaders, SMEs, and technical teams to ensure that data architecture solutions align with business goals and priorities.

  • Provide governance and oversight for data design processes, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance.

  • Work throughout the entire development lifecycle, translating business requirements into technical solutions and supporting development and testing teams to ensure architectural integrity.

  • Collaborate across EDM, IT, and Operations teams to drive enterprise-wide data initiatives.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Proven track record of 5+ years in Data Architecture or a related technical leadership role.

  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

  • DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or TOGAF Certification preferred.

  • Experience working within a TOGAF Enterprise Architecture framework.

  • Strong understanding of data governance, modeling, and integration best practices.

  • Prior experience in the insurance industry or a similarly data-driven domain is a plus.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
