Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to oversee and enhance enterprise-level data protection, disaster recovery, and IT infrastructure within our healthcare organization. This role is critical to safeguarding our systems against potential threats while ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in backup solutions, virtualization technologies, and Linux systems administration.
Responsibilities:
Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure robust data protection.
Manage and optimize Veritas NetBackup and Flex environments, while preparing for potential transitions to alternative systems.
Oversee the administration of VMware virtualization platforms and Red Hat Linux systems, ensuring secure and reliable operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and maintain efficient IT infrastructure tailored to organizational needs.
Monitor system performance and apply patches, updates, and configurations to maintain compliance and operational standards.
Provide training and mentorship to team members on evolving technologies and best practices.
Troubleshoot system failures and outages, coordinating repairs and communicating status updates to stakeholders.
Partner with vendors to ensure cost-effective, high-quality solutions and timely delivery of services.
Participate in planning and executing IT projects, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and resource constraints.
Maintain inventory and ensure availability of equipment and spare parts for seamless operations.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration or related roles.
Proficiency in Veritas NetBackup and disaster recovery planning.
Hands-on experience with VMware virtualization and/or Red Hat Linux administration.
Strong understanding of Active Directory and Microsoft Windows Server environments.
Familiarity with backup technologies and business continuity planning.
Knowledge of Citrix technologies and Dell systems is preferred.
Previous experience in a healthcare IT environment is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
