    Title: RF Engineer
    Location: Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, CA (SoCal Area)
    Duration: 12 Months
    Pay Rate: $44/hr $47/hr
    Travel: 15% (Mileage reimbursed for business travel)
    Work Arrangement: Hybrid Primarily remote with 1 2 in-office meetings/trainings per month in Irvine, CA

    Job Summary



    • The RF Engineer will apply sound engineering principles and planning tools to support the RF Engineering team with small cell sales processes, project implementation, and ongoing maintenance/modification of DAS and Small Cell Networks (SCN).

    • This role supports PROW activities in the West region and involves working on multiple projects at various lifecycle stages.

    • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is essential, requiring excellent communication skills at all levels.


    Essential Job Functions



    • Interface with customers and build relationships with their engineering teams.

    • Create DAS and small cell network designs/proposals.

    • Utilize sales process workflow systems.

    • Select sites, conduct tests, analyze data, and prepare customer documentation using propagation modeling software.

    • Design/engineer small cell solutions, including node evaluation, A&E drawing review, and as-built validation.

    • Create wiring diagrams, equipment lists, and power designs (AC/DC) in AutoCAD.

    • Use internal Company systems for RF configuration forecasting and cost estimates.

    • Maintain database records for Company assets.

    • Ensure compliance with FCC, OSHA, and city regulations.

    • Perform system optimization for multi-node outdoor SCN systems.

    • Collaborate on design standards, integration, and new technology trials.

    • Manage vendors for RF engineering tasks.

    • Configure, test, optimize, and commission DAS and small cell networks.

    • Support NOC and troubleshoot performance issues.

    • Conduct field verification using RF test equipment (power meters, spectrum analyzers, pilot scanners, etc.).

    • Perform ongoing system testing, analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting.


    Education & Certifications



    • Required:BSEE, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science

    • Preferred:MSEE


    Experience & Technical Requirements



    • 2 4 years of RF engineering or equivalent experience.

    • Familiarity with small cell architecture.

    • Proficiency with prediction tools (Atoll, IBWave) and MapInfo.

    • Experience with LTE, CBRS, UMTS, CDMA (5G preferred).

    • Knowledge of Small Cell RRU, DAS design, 5-Step Commissioning, and optimization.

    • Ability to learn tools such as Power BI, GIS, and analytics platforms.

    • Skilled in RF test tools: PIM/Sweep gear, power meters, spectrum analyzers, TEMs phones, CPE equipment, RF emissions probes.

    • Understanding of electrical power concepts and cell site construction.

    • AutoCAD experience for power designs.

    • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Word) and Power BI.
