Scope of Work: This support will be primarily for the Data Center and Cloud Hosting Services (DC2HS) Division, but in addition to supporting the DC2HS Division, the contractor shall support the Program Executive Office for Digital and Enterprise Services (PEO Digital), PEO for Manpower, Logistics, and Business Solutions (PEO MLB), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Navy Reserves, and other Department of Navy (DON) Business and Enterprise Systems, Department of Defense (DoD) and Federal organizations. The DC2HS division provides engineering, logistics, and PM support solutions for Manpower, Logistics, and Business challenges; provides automation through development and deployment of modern software-intensive solutions; includes hosting for software application and services including private and commercial Cloud services; and installs and sustain Enterprise Logistics and Maintenance Solutions for the Fleet.

Position Summary:
We are looking for a seasoned Software Engineer III to lead and contribute to the Automation and Integration (A&I) team s efforts in building scalable, secure, and innovative integration solutions. This role demands technical leadership, architectural thinking, and hands-on development of services that bring automation to critical IT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement complex integrations using scripting and software engineering best practices
    • Architect and develop "as-a-Service" models including Evaluate-STIG, ACAS, and Trellix
    • Lead API-based integration development across hosted applications and cloud platforms
    • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the engineering team
    • Drive innovation in automation strategies and tool utilization
    • Ensure security and compliance in developed solutions

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency in scripting languages: Python, PowerShell, and Bash
  • Hands-on experience with orchestration tools, especially Ansible
  • Expertise with development and collaboration tools: GitLab, Atlassian Suite
  • Strong familiarity with applications such as ServiceNow (ITSM, SPM, ITOM), AWS, OpenRMF, and Trellix
  • Demonstrated experience working with APIs to design and deploy automated integration solutions
  • Ability to lead technical projects and mentor team members
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Experience working in a DevSecOps or cybersecurity-focused environment
  • Familiarity with STIG, compliance automation, and security tooling
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification and an operating system-level certification are required.
  • A Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) certification is preferred; however, an AWS Cloud Practitioner certification may be considered as an acceptable alternative.

Minimum Education:

Master s or Bachelor s degree in quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems); and shall possess Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification

Minimum Experience:

Ten (10) years with Master s or 14 years with Bachelor s degree of professional experience with research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area. Individual shall have experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and notable experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting. Individual shall have notable experience supervising and/or mentoring of lesser experienced personnel.
