Description

SAIC is looking to hire a talented Senior AWS DevSecOps Engineer who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance activities of our cloud infrastructure hosted on the Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will lead a team of cloud professionals in managing, optimizing, and supporting the AWS environment to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of services for our organization. Your role includes supporting and championing the incident management, service request management, change management, and problem management processes as well as ensuing best practices are being adhered to by your team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and manage cloud resources to optimize performance, cost, and scalability
  • Drive the incident management process including troubleshooting, communicating, and post-mortem analysis.
  • Oversee the deployment of updates, patches, and new configuration in a manner that minimizes impact on services.
  • Establish and monitor AWS operational metrics and provide regular performance reports.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating new AWS features and services and integrate them into the existing cloud environment
  • Manage and mentor the operations team, fostering a culture of technical excellence
  • Coordinate with vendors and external service providers for support and troubleshooting
  • Adhere to and enforce compliance with industry and regulatory standards relevant to AWS clod services
  • Stay abreast of technology trends and developments in the AWS cloud operations.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Iac) and SRE principles.
  • Support the automation and continuous build/integration/deployment infrastructure for the AWS environment; write, build and deploy scripts.
  • Enable observability and resilience throughout cloud landing zones and Dev/Test/Prod environments.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's and nine years or more of related experience. Master's and seven or more years of related experience.(4 years experience in lieu of degree)
  • Proven background working in cloud environments with experience in the following areas:
    • Lead the AWS operations team in maintaining and operating the AWS cloud infrastructure to ensure 24/7 service availability.
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the operation, maintenance, and support of the AWS cloud environment.
    • Collaborate with the security and other functional areas to align AWS operations with broader IT and organization objectives.

Desired:
  • Professional cloud certifications from multiple cloud service providers (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect)
  • Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Familiarity with federal government compliance standards and frameworks (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST, Cloud Smart Strategy, etc.)
  • Experience with Zero Trust architecture principles and implementation in cloud environments.
  • Experience with Identity Principles and Access Management at large/enterprise scale.
  • Understanding of Cloud Network principles

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
