Job Description: ( *In Anticipation of Contract Award* )
We are seeking a strategic and technically astute Cloud Functional Specialist / Expert to support the U.S. Air Force s Cloud One EAMM mission. In this role, you will serve as a key advisor to government stakeholders and program leadership on the functional implementation of enterprise cloud services, application modernization, and digital transformation strategies. You will help translate mission needs into actionable cloud strategies while ensuring alignment with Air Force and DoD cloud frameworks and policies.
As a Cloud Functional Specialist on the EAMM program, you will directly contribute to transforming how the U.S. Air Force delivers and sustains its mission applications. You will be a trusted advisor helping guide mission owners through cloud migration while ensuring security, scalability, and performance in line with Air Force priorities. This position requires broad technical knowledge, deep familiarity with DoD IT and cybersecurity processes, and the ability to work across engineering, cybersecurity, and acquisition teams to enable successful cloud adoption.
Basic Requirements:
- B.S. in related field
- Must have an active Secret Clearance or Higher
- Advanced Cloud Computing and Edge Computing Technologies Certification
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience directly supporting Air Force Cloud One, EITaaS, or similar DoD cloud programs.
- Familiarity with FedRAMP, DoD Cloud SRG, eMASS, and continuous ATO (cATO) processes.
- Understanding of DevSecOps pipelines and enterprise service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for cloud functional integration and implementation across Cloud One EAMM initiatives.
- Advise senior Air Force leaders, application owners, and technical teams on cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), deployment options, and modernization pathways.
- Analyze functional requirements, legacy application architectures, and mission needs to support cloud suitability assessments and migration strategies.
- Collaborate with cloud architects, program managers, and cybersecurity leads to ensure cohesive, secure, and compliant cloud solutions.
- Provide guidance on enterprise cloud governance, cost optimization, performance planning, and operational readiness.
- Support the development of migration plans, risk assessments, business cases, and functional roadmaps for applications moving to AWS and Azure under Cloud One.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and technical working groups to gather functional input and drive consensus.
- Proven track record supporting large-scale digital transformation, cloud migration, or enterprise IT modernization programs.
- Strong understanding of Air Force IT environments, including Cloud One, Platform One, and RMF compliance.
- Experience analyzing mission applications, identifying cloud migration challenges, and recommending optimized modernization paths.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders alike
