Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
- Define and articulate product vision, strategy, and roadmaps aligned with business objectives and market opportunities
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities
- Develop compelling business cases that demonstrate clear value propositions and ROI
- Translate complex customer problems into actionable product requirements and success metrics
Product Development & Delivery
- Lead products through the complete development lifecycle from ideation to launch and beyond
- Apply Agile/Lean methodologies to drive iterative product development with cross-functional teams
- Make data-driven decisions on feature prioritization, trade-offs, and resource allocation
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage directly with users and customers to gather feedback, validate assumptions, and refine product direction
- Align product initiatives with account teams and strategic sales objectives
- Conduct customer demos and facilitate feedback sessions throughout the product lifecycle
- Serve as the voice of the customer within the organization
Technical Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and architectural soundness
- Understand technical constraints and opportunities to inform product decisions
- Review technical designs and provide product perspective on implementation approaches
- Stay current with emerging technologies and assess their applicability to product initiatives
Product Operations
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics
- Manage product backlogs and sprint planning in collaboration with development teams
- Create and maintain product documentation, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Communicate product progress, challenges, and pivots to leadership and stakeholders
Required Skills
Core Product Management Competencies
- Business & Value Focus: Demonstrated ability to prioritize business outcomes and value delivery over technical implementation details; proven track record of translating business needs into effective product strategy
- Technical Literacy: Strong technical acumen with ability to engage meaningfully with engineering teams, though deep technical implementation expertise is not required
- AI Expertise: Active user of AI tools with genuine excitement about AI technology; hands-on experience essential for credibility and informed decision-making in AI product development
- Agile/Lean Methodologies: Proven experience applying Agile and Lean principles in product development environments
- Product Development Framework: Deep understanding of stage-gated product development
Experience Requirements
- 5+ years of product management or technical product management experience
- Demonstrated success launching and scaling technology products
- Strong experience with customer discovery and user research methodologies
- Proven ability to conduct market research and competitive analysis
- Experience with prompt engineering and context engineering for generative AI applications
- Track record of working with cross-functional teams in complex organizational environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence at all organizational levels
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience
Desired Skills
Industry & Domain Expertise
- Experience in the government contracting (GovCon) space
- Understanding of federal procurement processes, compliance requirements, and contracting vehicles
- Product ownership experience with software applications leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), graph databases, and cloud-based architectures
- Knowledge of knowledge graphs and graph theory applied to analysis and problem-solving
- Familiarity with Neo4j graph database or similar graph database technologies
- Understanding of containerized application architectures (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Experience with AI patterns and protocols, such as Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), Model Context Protocol (MCP), and Agent architectures and workflows
- Experience with data curation strategies for AI applications and model training
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Jira Product Discovery (JPD)
- Experience setting long-term product vision and multi-year roadmaps
- Portfolio management experience across multiple concurrent products
- Experience with OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) or similar goal-setting frameworks
- PMP, CSM, CSPO, or other relevant product management certifications
- Experience with design thinking and human-centered design methodologies
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Background in data analytics, business intelligence, or data science
