A large enterprise client is seeking a Business Analyst to support ongoing identity and access management (IAM) initiatives as part of a pilot program focused on operational transformation. This role will support efforts to design and implement structured access governance frameworks across multiple lines of business.
This consultant will collaborate with stakeholders to analyze entitlement data, develop role-based access models, and implement scalable IAM solutions that support compliance, efficiency, and future system enhancements.
The ideal candidate has strong Excel expertise, a foundational understanding of IAM, and the ability to make informed decisions independently while also managing cross-functional communication.
Key Responsibilities:

IAM Role Development:
Partner with business stakeholders to build and maintain IAM roles and profiles that align with access governance standards and security protocols. -
Access Analysis & Framework Deployment:
Analyze access data to determine overprovisioning or inconsistencies. Support creation and rollout of entitlement matrices and standardized access models by user role or title. -
Access Review & Maintenance:
Conduct regular access reviews to ensure entitlements are current, accurate, and within compliance guidelines. Investigate discrepancies and support entitlement decommissioning. -
Support Migration Efforts:
Contribute to a large-scale migration initiative focused on centralizing and standardizing access permissions across organizational units. Independently manage assigned business units through the analysis, implementation, and documentation process. -
Stakeholder Communication:
Engage in well-informed conversations with access requestors and stakeholders, often explaining denials or changes to existing access levels based on matrix criteria. -
Monitoring & Reporting:
Track access utilization, identify anomalies, and prepare detailed reporting using advanced Excel functions and, when applicable, tools such as Tableau or SAS. -
Future-Readiness Contribution:
Play a key role in preparing the organization for a future identity governance platform rollout by contributing to baseline structure and access rationalization.
Required Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in Business Execution, Strategic Planning, or Implementation

Proven ability to work independently and evaluate operational challenges with limited supervision

Foundational understanding of IAM practices, role-based access, and entitlement lifecycle

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and formatting

Demonstrated success supporting operational or access-related transformations

Direct experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) processes or frameworks

Exposure to tools like SailPoint, Tableau, or SAS

Background in information security or application development with a focus on access controls

Strong communication skills with the ability to diplomatically handle access-related negotiations or denials
West Des Moines, IA - (Hybrid schedule)
Onsite Requirement: 3 days per week (Monday-Wednesday preferred)
Typical Work Hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (training schedule may vary)Contract Type:
12-month W2 Contract
Pay Rate: $45-$47/hour
Potential for Extension: Yes, depending on future project needs
