Summary

We are seeking an experienced Azure Solution Architect with a proven background in banking and lending to design, implement, and optimize cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will be an expert in Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, and related Azure data services, capable of driving large-scale data transformation and modernization programs within a regulated financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design
Lead the design and delivery of scalable Azure-based data platforms.
Architect and implement ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Snowflake.
Design data lakehouses, data warehouses, and real-time data integration frameworks.
Ensure data solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance standards (GDPR, BCBS 239, etc.).
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with business, risk, and compliance teams to translate financial requirements into technical solutions.
Collaborate with data engineers, modelers, and BI teams to enable seamless data flow and analytics capabilities.
Present architecture and technical decisions to senior stakeholders.
Data Governance & Quality
Implement data quality, lineage, and cataloging solutions using Azure Purview.
Define and enforce data standards, naming conventions, and governance frameworks.
Performance & Optimization
Optimize Snowflake workloads for performance, scalability, and cost.
Automate data pipeline monitoring, alerts, and CI/CD processes via Azure DevOps.

Required Skills & Experience

Cloud Expertise: Microsoft Azure (Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Databricks, Azure SQL, Blob Storage)
Data Warehousing: Deep experience in Snowflake architecture, design, and optimization
ETL/ELT: Proven hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and DataBricks
Programming: Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Scala
Architecture: Solid understanding of data lakehouse, data mesh, and real-time streaming architectures
Domain Expertise: Strong background in banking, lending, or financial services understanding of credit, loan, and regulatory data processes
DevOps & Automation: Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or ARM Templates

Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert / Data Engineer Associate
SnowPro Core / Advanced Architect Certification
Experience with Power BI, Azure Analysis Services, and data governance tools
Exposure to compliance-driven environments (SOX, GDPR, PCI DSS)
