Overview

TEKsystems Inc. is looking for a reliable and skilled Telecommunications Technician to support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecom systems. This role begins as a 6-month contract with the potential to become a long-term position. You'll receive full benefits, professional support, and opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment and cabling.
  • Perform routine system checks and troubleshoot network or connectivity issues.
  • Configure and program telecom devices such as routers, switches, VoIP phones, and PBX systems.
  • Work with team members to ensure smooth and reliable network performance.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to end-users and resolve service issues.
  • Keep accurate records of equipment, service calls, and installation activities.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and industry standards.
  • Stay informed about new technologies and best practices in the telecom field.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications are a plus).
  • Previous experience in telecommunications, low-voltage cabling, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Cat5/Cat6 cabling, routers, switches, and basic networking.
  • Familiarity with VoIP systems, PBX setups, and common network protocols.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Able to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gallatin, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
