ERP Business Systems Analyst - JD Edwards Focus
Position Summary
Contribute to the development, enhancement, and support of enterprise business solutions by leveraging expertise in ERP systems (JD Edwards EnterpriseOne) and core information technology principles. Responsible for requirement elicitation, ERP configuration, SQL-based analysis, system integration, and end-to-end application lifecycle management.
Key Technical Responsibilities
Requirements Engineering:
Conduct detailed stakeholder interviews and system analysis to define functional and non-functional requirements for business applications.ERP Configuration & Development:
Configure and customize JD Edwards EnterpriseOne modules (e.g., Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, Distribution) using UDO (User Defined Objects), Orchestrator, Business Services (BSSV), and UBE (Universal Batch Engine) tools.Data Analysis & Querying:
Design and execute advanced SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting using Microsoft SQL Server, and support integration with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SSRS).System Integration:
Coordinate and test interfaces between JD Edwards and third-party systems via APIs, middleware (e.g., Oracle SOA Suite, MuleSoft), and custom integrations.SDLC Participation:
Actively participate in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Agile/Scrum or Waterfall methodologies; document use cases, test cases, and system behavior.Troubleshooting & Optimization:
Perform root cause analysis on complex issues using debug logs, SQL profiling, JDE logs (jdedebug.log, jdelog.log), and performance monitoring tools.Change Management & Deployment:
Utilize OUM (Oracle Unified Method) or ITIL frameworks for controlled release management, including unit testing, UAT coordination, and production deployment.User Support & Training:
Develop user manuals and conduct training sessions; provide Tier 2/3 application support for business-critical issues.
Technical Qualifications
ERP Systems:
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (version 9.x preferred); familiarity with Oracle EBS, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics is advantageous.Database/SQL:
3+ years of experience writing T-SQL for Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle PL/SQL; including stored procedures, triggers, and performance tuning.Integration Tools:
Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, FTP/SFTP automation, and middleware such as Oracle SOA, Dell Boomi, or MuleSoft.Reporting Tools:
Familiarity with Crystal Reports, Power BI, SSRS, or other enterprise reporting solutions.Version Control & Ticketing:
Exposure to tools like Git, ServiceNow, Jira, or Azure DevOps for issue tracking and change management.
Educational & Professional Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
3+ years supporting ERP environments in a technical analyst or developer capacity.
Strong understanding of business process modeling, data flows, and enterprise application architecture.
