Job Details

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career-focused Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. In this role, you will support system security architecture and assurance by implementing robust cybersecurity frameworks, assessing risk, and leading system compliance activities across complex computing environments.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Providing Information Assurance (IA) security requirements to update system requirement documents
  • Coordinating IA matters with other directorates and external partners as necessary
  • Performing or reviewing technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities, ensure compliance with established IA standards and regulations, and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Validating and verifying system security requirement definitions and establishing system security designs
  • Evaluating proposed software, hardware, firmware, and infrastructure to ensure compliance with applicable security guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Applying knowledge of IA policy, procedures, and workforce structure to design, develop, and implement secure networking, computing, and enclave environments
  • Supporting toolsets such as SEIMs, LogRhythm, ACAS/NessSCAP, and working with mandatory/role-based access control concepts (e.g., SE Linux extensions to RHEL, PitBull, and Windows), Oracle/MS SQL database security, and Apache/IIS Web server security
  • Supporting security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management efforts
  • Identifying overall security requirements for the proper handling of Government data
  • Contributing to security planning, risk assessment, certification, and awareness activities for system and network operations


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of additional IT experience in lieu of a degree
  • 7+ years of cyber experience
  • Experience serving as an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Demonstrated experience conducting system security assessments and implementing cybersecurity mitigation strategies
  • Security+ certification within 6 months of hire


Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations
