Position Description
As a Systems Analyst II / Software Developer, you will define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain requirements-driven software and web applications in support of the Harris County Clerk's Office Elections Department. You will write, test, and maintain code for both new and existing applications, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines, solving issues independently, and following best practices for security, stability, and scalability.

Position Description

- Write programming scripts to code the election, enhance functionality, and/or performance of company applications as necessary.
- Collaborate with developers, programmers, and designers in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications.
- Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures.
- Analyze data and create reports for miscellaneous departments.
- Participate in election period activities including nightly reporting during both Early Voting and Election Day, plus other scheduled activities occurring outside of a normal work schedule.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
- Three (3)+ years building production-quality software solutions.
- Demonstrated proficiency in at least one (1) server-side language and one front-end framework.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be able to work under stress, must be able to work without direct supervision.
- Have some knowledge to be able to interpret laws, policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience of software development technologies including NodeJS, .NET/C#, JavaScript, and MSSQL (queries, views, stored procedures, functions).
- Ability to learn new tools, frameworks, and processes quickly.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills; able to research solutions and resolve issues with minimal direct supervision.
- Strong sense of accountability-able to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate, reliable work under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; comfortable asking questions and collaborating when clarification is needed.
