Position: Kafka Streaming Engineer (Confluent Focus)
Location: Remote in the U.S.
Rate: $75.00 - $83.00 per hour
Duration: 12+ Months; Strong potential for extension
Overview:
Our client in the Banking industry is seeking a Kafka Streaming Engineer (Contract) to develop and maintain real-time data streaming pipelines using Confluent Kafka. The role requires hands-on experience with Kafka Streams, ksqlDB, and Kafka Connect, along with cloud-native deployment practices.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement Kafka-based real-time streaming pipelines.
Work with Kafka Streams, ksqlDB, or Flink for event processing.
Build connectors and integrate Kafka with databases, APIs, and data lakes.
Collaborate with backend teams and DevOps for CI/CD integration.
Monitor and optimize performance, reliability, and scalability.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience with Kafka or Confluent Kafka.
Proficient in Java, Scala, or Python.
Experience with ksqlDB, Kafka Streams, or Flink/Spark Streaming.
Strong understanding of serialization formats (Avro/Protobuf).
Hands-on with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
Desired Experience:
Confluent Cloud experience.
Familiarity with Schema Registry and Kafka Connect.
Prior work in financial or highly regulated domains.
