POSITION SUMMARY
The Cloud Data Administrator is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the organization's cloud-based data infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. This role also involves the deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of the organization's selected data governance tool (e.g., Collibra, BigEye, or Alation), ensuring seamless integration with cloud environments and data governance practices. The Cloud Data Engineer will collaborate with multiple teams to support data-driven initiatives, ensure data quality, and promote compliance with data governance policies.
Responsibilities
Architect, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud-based data solutions such as data lakes, data warehouses, and data processing pipelines.
Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines to ensure efficient data integration and movement across cloud platforms.
Deploy, configure, and maintain the selected data governance tool to support data stewardship, quality, lineage, and compliance.
Monitor and optimize cloud data systems for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability.
Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) within the cloud infrastructure.
Use tools like PowerShell, Python, or Terraform to automate cloud infrastructure tasks such as provisioning, monitoring, and scaling.
Work closely with application development, IT, and business teams to ensure alignment on data governance, data management, and cloud operations.
Offer technical guidance and training on data governance tools to end users and other stakeholders.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in cloud data engineering, cloud systems administration, and data governance tool administration.
Experience deploying and managing data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, BigEye, or Alation).
Healthcare IT experience, preferred.
Experience with cloud automation tools such as Terraform, PowerShell, or similar, preferred.
Experience in a highly regulated industry, particularly healthcare IT, with a focus on data security and privacy, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) and data storage solutions (e.g., Azure Data Lake, AWS S3, Snowflake).
Knowledge of cloud security protocols and disaster recovery solutions, preferred.
Familiarity with SQL Server development, ETL processes, and task automation, preferred.
Proficiency in developing data pipelines with SQL, Python, or similar technologies.
Strong understanding of data governance concepts, security practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
