Description

Overview:

The IT Contracts and Assets Lead plays a key role in managing IT procurement, vendor contracts, and asset oversight to ensure compliance, efficiency, and strategic alignment. This individual partners with IT leadership, Finance, and Procurement teams to uphold corporate policies, support vendor negotiations, and maintain accurate documentation of all contracts and related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement & Compliance:
  • Ensure IT procurement activities comply with internal policies and Delegation of Authority (DOA) guidelines.
  • Act as liaison between IT, Finance, and Procurement to streamline purchasing processes.
  • Monitor vendor engagements and flag non-compliance risks.

Contract Management:
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of vendor contracts, including review and renewal of Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and change orders.
  • Support vendor negotiations to secure favorable terms aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate or renegotiate agreements for cost optimization.

Asset & Repository Management:
  • Maintain a centralized repository for all IT contracts, revisions, and Capital Authorization Requests (CARs).
  • Track capital and operational expenses related to procurement.
  • Develop reports for contract status, asset usage, and compliance metrics.

Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Work closely with IT leadership to align procurement and contract strategies with business needs.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on best practices in IT contracting.
  • Report regularly on compliance, vendor performance, and procurement outcomes.

Risk Management & Reporting:
  • Identify and mitigate contract risks such as vague deliverables or unfavorable terms.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs such as contract timelines, compliance rates, and vendor effectiveness.


Additional Expectations:
  • Operates independently, with responsibility for executing procurement strategies and overseeing contract compliance.
  • Strong focus on cost savings, process improvement, and risk mitigation.
  • Builds and maintains collaborative relationships across IT, Finance, Procurement, and external partners.

Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree (MBA) preferred.

Experience:
  • 7+ years in IT procurement, contract management, or similar roles within a global organization.
  • Experience reviewing, negotiating, and managing vendor contracts (MSAs, SOWs).
  • Familiarity with DOA, capital authorization processes, and policy compliance.
  • Industry experience in pharmaceuticals or biotechnology is a plus.

Skills:
  • Procurement & Contract Expertise: Deep knowledge of procurement processes and legal contract language.
  • Negotiation: Skilled in securing favorable terms and managing vendor relationships.
  • Technical Understanding: Familiar with IT systems, software, and infrastructure.
  • Organizational & Analytical Skills: Able to manage multiple timelines and analyze contract risks or savings opportunities.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Certifications (Preferred):
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
  • Certified Technology Procurement Executive (CTPE)
