RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is looking for a Data Engineer in Sunrise, FL.
Responsibilities:
Data Platform Infrastructure & DevOps:
* Administer, optimize, and scale the Databricks Lakehouse environment for performance and cost efficiency
* Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, including Databricks workspaces, SQL Endpoints, Unity Catalog objects, and networking components
* Implement and enforce Unity Catalog for governance, access control, and metadata management
* Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for data pipelines and infrastructure deployments using GitHub Actions
* Automate operational tasks, monitoring, and alerting for the data platform
* Apply DevSecOps principles, ensuring compliance and secure credential management
Data Engineering & Pipeline Development:
* Design and implement data ingestion patterns into Databricks using Delta Lake for large-scale processing
* Develop and optimize Spark jobs (PySpark/Scala) for data transformation
* Manage ingestion pipelines using Airbyte or similar tools (Fivetran, Stitch), ensuring data quality and reliability
* Orchestrate and automate pipelines and dbt models using Databricks Workflows
Data Modeling & Collaboration:
* Collaborate with Analytics Engineers to build efficient data models using dbt
* Implement dbt best practices for modularity, testing, and documentation
* Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions
* Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in data engineering
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
* 5+ years as a Data Engineer with strong cloud-based platform expertise
* Deep experience with PySpark/Scala, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Databricks SQL
* Data Modeling: Hands-on experience with dbt for transformations and testing
* Technical Expertise: Databricks & Spark
* Architecture: Solid understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and Lakehouse architectures
* Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in Terraform for cloud resource management
* CI/CD & DevOps: Expertise in Git, GitHub Actions, and automation
* Programming: Strong in Python and SQL (Scala is a plus)
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
