Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Cloud and AI Architect to design and implement secure, scalable, and ethical AI solutions supporting government and public service missions. This role blends deep expertise in AI/ML with advanced cloud architecture (AWS) and enterprise solution design. You will work closely with Agencies to modernize systems, enable data-driven decision-making, enhance citizen engagement, and strengthen public sector outcomes.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, strategic, and capable of guiding high-impact projects across multiple teams. This role requires someone who is comfortable working with senior stakeholders, leading architectural discussions, and mentoring other architects.

Candidates must already be located in Metro Atlanta.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of AI/ML, GenAI, and cloud-based solutions within AWS.
• Architect and modernize large-scale applications across State Agencies.
• Ensure all AI/ML solutions follow ethical, secure, and compliant guidelines (NIST, FedRAMP, FISMA, etc.).
• Evaluate and recommend modern AI platforms and tools (Azure ML, AWS SageMaker, Google Vertex AI, PyTorch).
• Develop enterprise-level architectures supporting private, public, and hybrid cloud models.
• Work closely with stakeholders to define technology direction and solution standards.
• Support multiple project teams and mentor junior architects.
• Drive cloud adoption, modernization strategies, and enterprise integration across agencies.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Must reside in Metro Atlanta
• 10+ years overall IT experience.
• 5+ years enterprise architecture experience (full lifecycle).
• 5–8 years hands-on technical application architecture experience.
• Strong experience designing and programming modern applications on AWS.
• Proven background designing secure, scalable AI/ML and NLP solutions.
• Experience building cloud architectures using IaaS, PaaS, hybrid, and multi-cloud models.
• Hands-on experience with ML/DL frameworks and platforms such as:
• AWS SageMaker
• Azure ML
• Google Vertex AI
• PyTorch
• Experience creating compliant solutions aligned with government standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.

Minimum Education / Experience Requirements

Candidate must meet one of the following:

• Bachelor’s in IT, Computer Science, or Data Science
  OR
• 5+ years progressive experience with AWS/Public Cloud and AI/ML technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• Experience working with state or local government
• Experience with GenAI, LLMs, and chatbot solutions
• Experience with enterprise-wide system integration (cloud + AI)
• Knowledge of public sector compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, FISMA)
• Experience with responsible AI frameworks and bias mitigation
• Prior work in federal/state/municipal digital transformation programs
• Any cloud or AI specialty certification (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform)
