Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Administrator to manage, monitor, and optimize our Power BI environment. This role is responsible for ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing analytics infrastructure while supporting business users and developers in a collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain the Power BI service (Power BI Service, Gateway, Workspace, Dataflows, Apps).

  • Manage user access, roles, licenses, and security settings within Power BI.

  • Monitor performance and usage metrics, optimize dashboard/report performance, and ensure data refresh reliability.

  • Set up and maintain enterprise data gateways, manage scheduled refreshes, and troubleshoot issues.

  • Ensure data governance, compliance, and auditability of Power BI assets.

  • Collaborate with data engineers, report developers, and business users to enable best practices in report development and publishing.

  • Maintain version control and manage deployment of Power BI content across environments (dev, test, prod).

  • Conduct routine health checks, generate reports on usage/adoption, and provide support for incidents and enhancements.

  • Implement and enforce naming conventions, folder structures, and access protocols.

  • Stay current with Power BI updates, new features, and roadmap releases.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Power BI Administrator or in a similar BI platform admin role.

  • Strong understanding of Power BI architecture, including Service, Gateway, Report Server, and Power Platform components.

  • Hands-on experience with Power BI Premium capacity and tenant-level settings.

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Admin Center and Azure Active Directory.

  • Familiarity with DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling concepts.

  • Strong knowledge of security models, RBAC, and workspace management.

  • Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell or REST APIs is a plus.

  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for Power BI deployment is an advantage.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Power BI certification (e.g., PL-300, PL-500, or PL-900).

  • Experience in large-scale BI deployments.

  • Exposure to tools like Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), Azure Synapse, and Data Factory is a plus.
