About the Role: Associate Director, Global R&D Impact & Responsibilities: Work with senior analysts within Research and Design to design new S&P Dow Jones Indices across asset classes. Experience in index construction techniques and financial theories is desired in delivering innovative index solutions and analysis to clients.
A high level of numeracy, expertise in programming, and the ability to handle large data sets will be critical to the role. Effective communication of the work and its conclusions is also essential.
The role would benefit from someone with an awareness of topical market trends and a desire to translate investment objectives into systematic and actionable index strategies. The role will encompass all elements of the index design lifecycle; including background research, client-engagement, data gathering, back-testing and finalizing index methodologies.
The role may also require contribution on our thought leadership program by contributing to presentations and research and product papers. Finally, the role may also involve support in the construction of new platforms, data onboarding and processes to enable a more effective and efficient environment for the team.
Accountabilities: - Provide expertise in the research and design of new indices
- Access, clean and transform complex datasets
- Build a comprehensive understanding of the process behind and availability of data from our providers
- Back-test the performance of index concepts to assess fulfilment of investment objectives
- Utilize programming skills in a proficient manner to:
- ensure robust and efficient index design
- build internal platforms and tools to improve capabilities and resolve repeatable processes
- Write finalized index methodology documents for external use
- Prepare and update presentation slides for internal and external events
Other Responsibilities: - Work within Global Research and Design and other departments to manage projects that will facilitate the design of new indices.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Must be able to clearly communicate to a number of internal and external stakeholders.

The Team: Client Services - Customer Support Analyst
Impact & Responsibilities: The Loan Platforms division of S&P Global offers an innovative suite of products for its' clients to address all of their loan settlement needs. It is the first fully operational provider of par and distressed loan closing and recordkeeping services for the primary and secondary loan markets. Through a unique combination of experienced personnel and electronic processing, hardware, and software, Loan Platforms is a single system to address market demands and support the entire life cycle of a loan.
The successful candidate will form a key part of the Loan Platforms team, responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of our Syndicated Loan Market offering, as well as supporting the questions and requests of our internal and external clients.

Responsibilities: - General support of the Platforms
- New user onboarding, account maintenance, resolution of client issues or questions, and provide walk throughs on how to operate within the platform.
- Creation and maintenance of entity identifiers
- Analysis of client administrative details and tax forms
- Work with a global team responsible for front-line client services
- Must consistently adhere to all internal procedures
- Be pro-active in identifying problems. Either work with peers on a resolution or escalate them to management.
- Capture and channel user feedback to the management team to facilitate the continuous improvement of our products and services
- Ad hoc duties and projects as requested by the team leader

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
- S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $215,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
- In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We're Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: - Over 5 years active work experience.
- Proficient in Python.
- Demonstrate an appreciation of asset classes and financial theories that underpin portfolio & index construction.
- Must be able to work independently and in collaboration with other team members multiple projects.
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities to solve original, non-routine problems in a timely and insightful manner.
- Masters Degree. Advanced degree in computer science, math, engineering, economics, or finance strongly preferred.
