Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: San Fernando, CA

Employment Type: 12-Month Contract (with potential for direct hire)

We are seeking a driven Manufacturing Engineer to support a client in San Fernando, CA. In this role, you will plan, direct, and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure operational efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in Lean Manufacturing and process improvement looking to make a measurable impact in a collaborative, fast-paced industrial setting.

Rate Range : $35/hour - $38/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, evaluate, and enhance manufacturing methods and production processes.
  • Design efficient layouts of equipment and workspace, optimizing for safety, space utilization, and workflow.
  • Collaborate with planning and design teams to ensure manufacturability of product designs and tooling.
  • Interface with vendors for material, equipment, and part specifications; evaluate products for compliance and quality.
  • Estimate production time, staffing requirements, and operational costs for project planning and budgeting.
  • Apply statistical methods to analyze production data and forecast future manufacturing needs.
  • Partner across teams on Lean and Kaizen initiatives to drive process improvement and cost savings.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Process, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • AutoCAD experience required.
  • Strong understanding of assembly processes and efficiency optimization.

Physical Demands:
  • Occasionally lift/move up to 10 lbs.
  • Regular use of hands/arms; occasional standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, crouching.
  • Requires close and distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.


Work Environment:
  • Frequently exposed to non-weather-related heat and cold.
  • Occasionally exposed to humidity, mechanical parts, and moderate noise.
