Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer (L3) to join our data engineering team. This is a full-time, fully remote role. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience building scalable data pipelines, optimizing cloud data architectures, and delivering robust solutions on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows on Google Cloud Platform.

  • Develop scalable solutions using BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, and other Google Cloud Platform services.

  • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business teams to ensure high-quality data delivery.

  • Implement data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization for large-scale datasets.

  • Build batch and real-time streaming pipelines using Dataflow / Pub/Sub.

  • Develop and automate workflows using Airflow (Cloud Composer).

  • Write clean, high-performance code using Python, SQL, PySpark, etc.

  • Troubleshoot production pipelines and ensure system reliability, performance, and data quality.

  • Implement best practices for security, governance, data cataloging, and cloud resource management.

  • Optimize cost, performance, and scalability of cloud data solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5 8 years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer.

  • Strong expertise with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) and its data services.

  • Solid experience with BigQuery, Dataflow (Apache Beam), Pub/Sub, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer.

  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark.

  • Experience with data modeling (OLAP/OLTP), schema design, and performance tuning.

  • Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines in cloud environments.

  • Experience with CI/CD, Git, DevOps practices for data engineering.

  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, large-scale data processing, and cloud architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Google Cloud Platform Certifications: Professional Data Engineer, Cloud Architect, or equivalent.

  • Experience with Terraform, Data Governance, Data Quality frameworks.

  • Experience with streaming frameworks like Kafka, Flink, or real-time analytics.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Knowledge of ML pipelines or MLOps concepts is a plus.
