Location: Remote (U.S.-based candidates only)
Duration: 2-year projectIndustry: RFID / Wireless Communications / Embedded Systems

About the Role

seeking a Senior DSP Engineer to lead the development of a next-generation software-defined radio (SDR) platform. This is a high-impact, ground-up engineering effort focused on building advanced modem and air interface capabilities using digital signal processing (DSP).

The hardware foundation is in place, what s needed is a DSP expert who can architect and implement the software layer that drives radio performance, spectrum manipulation, and signal conversion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement DSP algorithms for modem and air interface functionality
  • Translate analog signal inputs into actionable digital data through advanced mathematical modeling
  • Develop and optimize software for SDR platforms, focusing on spectrum efficiency and protocol compliance
  • Conduct statistical analysis and modeling using tools like MATLAB
  • Collaborate with RF engineers to ensure seamless integration between hardware and software
  • Support testing, validation, and refinement of signal processing components

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in DSP engineering, preferably in wireless communications or SDR
  • Strong background in air interface protocols, spectrum analysis, and signal conversion
  • Hands-on experience with Blackfin DSP architecture
  • Familiarity with 900 MHz RF protocols and spectrum usage
  • Proficiency in MATLAB for statistical modeling and algorithm development
  • Solid understanding of analog-to-digital conversion and real-time signal processing
  • Experience working in small, agile engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, or related field
  • Experience in multi-year product development cycles from concept to deployment
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and RF hardware integration
