Job Title: Database Application Support Engineer (Level 1.5 / Level 2)
Location: US - Boston MA, Orlando FL, Houston TX (Complete onsite)

Job Summary:
The Database Application Support Engineer (L1.5/L2) will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting multiple production and non-production database environments. The role involves performing database-level operations across various enterprise applications (e.g., MAS, MUSE, Benefit Workstation), troubleshooting ETL and job scheduling issues, performing data updates, and ensuring client environment stability and compliance.
This position requires strong hands-on experience with SQL (Oracle and other relational databases), data maintenance procedures, and an understanding of business-critical application environments.

Key Responsibilities:
Environment Management
Support Production, Staging, and Non-Production database environments.
Perform database setup, configuration, and environment validation for new or recovered environments.
Handle de-converted client database recovery and setup requests.
Database Operations & Maintenance
Execute SQL scripts and queries to perform administrative and corrective actions.
Disable or update user access and records in MAS, MUSE, and Benefit Workstation (BW) databases.
Use database queries to disable MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) for users when required.
Perform SSN changes, UUID deactivations, and other sensitive data updates following security guidelines.
Add or remove client profiles from application databases (e.g., Benefit Workstation, MAS, MUSE).
Retrieve and analyze configuration, schema, UID, and other database details as needed.
ETL & Job Management
Monitor, schedule, and troubleshoot ETL jobs, data refreshes, and batch processing tasks.
Work with job schedulers to deploy, validate, and fix scheduled jobs.
Collaborate with Development and Infrastructure teams for job migration and incident resolution.
Incident Management & Troubleshooting
Respond to database-related incidents and service requests.
Analyze job failures, data discrepancies, and access issues using SQL queries and log files.
Escalate complex database or application issues to Level 3 / DBA team with detailed diagnostics.
Documentation & Process
Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and technical documentation for all recurring tasks.
Track changes and activities in compliance with change management processes.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize database operations.

Mandatory Skills & Experience:
Strong SQL proficiency (Oracle SQL / PL-SQL preferred).
.NET, C#, Core, Web API, Entity Framework, SQL Server, DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps
Experience in database-driven application support (MAS, MUSE, Benefit Workstation, etc.).
Hands-on experience performing:
o MFA disablement via database
o User record disable/update in multiple DBs (MAS, MUSE, BW)
o SSN/UUID updates and data maintenance
o Client profile additions/removals
Experience with ETL scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M, AutoSys, Tidal, or similar).
Understanding of job deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of Oracle DB, and familiarity with other RDBMS (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) is an advantage.
Knowledge of schema management, config detail extraction, and database structure understanding.
Basic understanding of application environments (Production / UAT / Staging).
Familiarity with incident/change management tools (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.).

Preferred Skills (Good to Have):
Exposure to data masking or sensitive data handling processes.
Scripting knowledge (Python, Shell, or PowerShell) for automation.
Basic experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS, etc.).
Understanding of Active Directory / SSO integration for MFA management.
Experience supporting financial, benefits, or HR domain applications.

Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2 5 years of relevant experience in database or application support.
Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or similar certification is a plus.
