Job Title: Central Office Installer (Level IV)
Location: On-site | Byron Center, MI

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Level IV Central Office Installer to join our team for on-site telecommunications installation projects. This role involves the installation of cable, wiring, and telecom equipment in Central Office environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with DC power systems, fiber optics, and telecom infrastructure, and will be capable of leading installation teams and ensuring quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure telecom equipment, cable racks, bays, and fiber ducts.
  • Run, lace, label, and test power, fiber, and copper cabling.
  • Perform h-taps, inline splicing, and BDFB terminations.
  • Interpret and execute Method of Procedures (MoPs), blueprints, and schematics.
  • Lead and assign tasks to Level 1-3 installers.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and removal activities.
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, supervisors, and team members.
  • Ensure compliance with AT&T TP76300 standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Central Office installation.
  • Strong knowledge of DC power systems and telecom cabling.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with wire wrapping, color codes, and equipment rack installation.
  • Certified in Skill Levels 1-4.
  • Ability to work independently and lead teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with DS1 wire wrapping, DSX3 BNC connections, CAT5, and fiber testing.
  • Knowledge of Hilti and 3M cable hole closure systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills.

Travel Requirements:

  • Regular out-of-town travel (Monday-Friday); some weekends required.
  • Overnight stays with nightly per diem.
  • Company vehicle and fuel card provided.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and DOT Medical Certification.
  • Must meet insurance eligibility requirements.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hr.
