Job Title: IT Desktop / PC Field Technician

Location: Indianapolis, IN 46204

Duration: 1+ Year Long-term contract

Description:

Lead Install Tech - Backs up data, removes PC, installs new PC, restores data, and completes install checklist.

Candidate must currently be located in Indiana to be considered for this position.

Overview:

  • This position is required to assist the Project Managers and Deployment Leads in the implementation of statewide PC Refresh Projects on a 4 year rotating schedule to replace all state-issued PC computers allowing the Indiana Office of Technology to efficiently support IT resources across the state.
  • The duties of this position are to support the PC Refresh Project Managers and Deployment Leads by installing new PCs for Agencies' PC Refresh Projects.
  • Following the established processes and checklists to ensure the end-user has all the necessary software and settings on the new PC. Backing up, protecting, and restoring data will be an essential task for this position.
  • Updating documentation and completing e-install forms are required. Will be the lead tech and point of contact onsite for large deployments. Customer service is also a crucial element for this position. This position will perform other duties as assigned.

Experience Description:

  • Associate or Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required. Advanced experience, and advanced knowledge of the following: PC-Desktops and Laptops, iPhone, peripherals, and client/server technology. Hands-on experience with Windows 7, Windows 10 Active Directory, and VPN.
  • Industry-recognized certifications such as A+, Network +, or MCSE are a benefit. Understanding of Internet technologies is beneficial.
  • Hands-on experience supporting the Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to support printers, scanners, and other peripherals. Solid verbal and written communication and documentation skills are required.
