Job Description: Data Center Technician (L4)

Description: We are looking for an experienced L4 Data Center Technician with over 7 years of dedicated data center experience. The team will be responsible for troubleshooting large GPU deployments within an enterprise data center environment. This role is local to Mount Pleasant, WI, with no travel required.
Summary: As a Data Center Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and decommissioning data center equipment. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Removing network cables as part of the data center decommissioning process.
  • Running, labeling, and staging power and networking cables.
  • Following procedures for preparing, installing, performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, replacing, and decommissioning equipment under the guidance of Data Center Technician Leads.
  • Preparing, staging, setting up, and performing basic startups and shutdowns for hardware following written instructions, checklists, guides, and standard procedures.
  • Conducting physical audits of data center assets.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Main Function: The primary role of a Data Center Technician is to monitor software to process business, scientific, engineering, and other data according to operating instructions.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Monitor systems for equipment failure or performance errors.
  • Respond to program error messages by identifying and correcting problems or terminating the program.
  • Assist programmers and systems analysts in testing and debugging new programs.
  • Operate spreadsheet programs and other software to load and manipulate data and produce reports.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training preferred.
  • 5+ years of data center experience required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, customer service orientation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Job Title: Data Center Technician
Top Skills Details: We are seeking a team of 9 L4 Data Center Technicians and 1 Data Center Technician Lead based out of the Milwaukee market. Candidates must have:
  1. 7+ years of data center technician experience (break/fix, deployment, troubleshooting).
  2. GPU deployment experience (highly desirable but not required).
  3. IT skills in network and systems.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $40.00/hr.
