JOB TITLE Engineering Manager - Flight Controls Systems & Electrical Distribution Equipment

Job Description:

The Engineering Manager will lead our Engineering group in the applications of aerospace primary and secondary flight control components and high voltage electrical distribution panels. The Engineering Manager will make both strategic and operational decisions for product development and project management, of new and established aircraft hydraulic mechanical actuation systems, associated electronic systems and controls. This role involves close collaboration with the parent company's engineering team and maintains close communication with customers. Engineering Manager is self-motivated and result oriented, with leadership and technical skills to support the organization's management chain of command.

Responsibilities: Duties include and are not limited to:

Leads and guides the engineering department, ensuring prioritization, collaborative research, and effective teamwork in executing both new development and sustaining activities.

Offers technical expertise and provides mentorship and coaching to the department for the development and delivery of Electrical and Hydraulic Flight Control equipment.

Conducts effective interdepartmental and customer interactions with multiple teams, coordinates technical efforts to accomplish program objectives.

Provides recommendations to parent company's engineering team to solve technical problems and to develop a technology development strategy.

Establishes and upholds standards, conducting team training to augment capability and ensure adherence to company processes.

Establishes department goals and devises tactical and operational plans to implement and achieve company objectives.

Creates departmental budgets, schedules, and management plans to ensure programs adhere to timelines and budgets.

Supervises the overall operation of the engineering department.

Provides Manufacturing Engineering leadership in the preparation, organization, improvement, and execution of Engineering Masters and Assembly Instructions for the Manufacturing Department

Provides management of companies Core Technical Information and implementation of annual updates and training.

Job Requirements:

Strong knowledge of the aerospace product development process demonstrated by a track record of hands-on contribution to successful development; helpful experience with "cradle to grave" systems development including integration and certification testing of aircraft and FCS (Flight Control Systems) EDE (Electrical Distribution Equipment)

Conduct efficient horizontal and vertical communication through a highly organized environment.

Ensure product configuration compliance through the management and regulation of an established document and data control system.

Accountable on Technical issues to customers and suppliers working with parent company and their customers for MRO and MRB dispositions.

Well-developed expertise and in-depth understanding of the design practices and operation of Flight Controls Actuation systems and Electrical Distribution Panels used in aircraft.

Experience with Failure Investigation Process including root cause determination, corrective action resolution and implementation.

Propose and facilitate product improvement ideas.

Familiarity with specific engineering and simulation analyses: performance, reliability & safety, FMEA, FEA.

Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in aerospace project management planning and leadership.

Good people management and effective customer service skills.

Highly effective communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) to provide and solicit critical information, and to contribute to the generation of professional technical proposals.

Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent technical field.

15 years' experience in hydraulic Flight Controls Actuation or equivalent
