DESCRIPTION
This position administers security servers, firewalls, intrusion detection appliances and other systems. Performs compliance activities to ensure the successful implementation of the city s security program. Facilitates the conducting of technology audits; reviews all audit reports and responses to ensure timeliness and effectiveness of corrective actions. Assists in the development and management of the city s information security program, including policies, standards, guidelines, baselines, and procedures.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following
- Provides project support and consulting for city-wide IT initiatives and projects. Reviews project Requests for Proposals (RFQs), coordinates procurement, and advises and reviews applications architectures.
- Oversees: email security operations including phishing/SPAM remediation, DMARC, endpoint detection and response, investigations and forensics, and SIEM and log management. Responds to incidents and investigates security breaches.
- Manages firewall policy implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Oversees and supports identity access management. Provides Identity and Access Management system support, third party vendor account management, third-party connection agreement support, and social media access assignments.
- Monitors vulnerability to security threats and oversees threat intelligence, governance, risk, and compliance. Assists with performing assessments and audits.
- Supports security awareness efforts through ongoing employee training and new employee orientation.
- This is a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) regulated position and requires the ability to meet and maintain compliance with the Security Policy.
- May perform responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in computer network, IT systems security, or related experience.
Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant s full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Information Systems, Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
Professional Licensure and/or Certifications:
- Any Information Security, Information Privacy or Information Audit Certifications. is preferred.
