AV Systems Design Engineer

Title: AV Systems Design Engineer
Location: Candidate can sit in either East Hartford, CT or Boston, MA. or Wilmington MA.
We're seeking an AV Systems Design Engineer to help shape the future of collaborative environments. In this role, you'll work with cutting-edge technologies, partner with visionary clients, and play a key role in redefining how people connect and communicate. This Design Engineer will be customer facing and create solutions for them.

What You'll Do
Client Engagement & Sales Enablement

• Partner with Sales to understand client goals and translate them into impactful AV solutions.
• Lead site surveys, needs assessments, and deliver persuasive solution presentations.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor, clearly articulating the value of your designs.

System Design & Engineering

• Design robust AV systems integrating platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams, along with LED walls, audio systems, camera switching, and collaboration tools.
• Ensure systems are intuitive, high-performing, and aligned with client expectations and budgets.

Technical Documentation

• Develop comprehensive documentation including signal flow diagrams, equipment lists, infrastructure specifications, and bills of materials.
• Craft clear executive summaries and technical narratives to support project delivery.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Collaborate with clients, architects, consultants, and project managers to align vision with technical feasibility.
• Contribute meaningfully to design discussions, ensuring all perspectives are considered.

Skills Needed for this Role

• 5+ years of experience in AV system design or engineering.
• CTS-D and/or CTS-I certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of AV signal flow, system integration, and control systems.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools is a plus.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A collaborative, proactive mindset and a passion for problem-solving.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
